Eolfi Inaugurates 24MW Wind Park in Champagne Eastern France hits 1000 MW

Paris, June 17, 2010. Eolfi, wind and solar subsidiary of Veolia Environment, inaugurates today the wind park Charmont-sous-Barbuise, in the Aube, a 12 turbines with a total capacity of 24 MW. The commissioning of the park contributes to the milestone of 1,000 MW of installed wind power capacity in Eastern France.

Initiated in 2001, the project was built in late 2009 and is now operated by Eolfi. The park is co-owned by more than 9,000 people who invested in investment funds (FIP and RPF) dedicated to new energy in Champagne-Ardenne.

Located in Eastern of France since 2005, Eolfi is now a major player in France, with 23 parks in operation or under construction with a total capacity of 330 MW. Alain Delsupexhe, CEO of Eolfi said: "We are very proud of the achievement of park-by-Charmont Barbuise. The 1000 MW of installed capacity in this region and represent nearly a quarter of French wind capacity covering the needs of one million people, including heat.

The 12 machines from German manufacturer REpower MM92, each with an output of 2 MW, are emerging at 80 meters high and produce 70 GWh per year with an average wind speed of 6.9 m / s, about 25 km / h at hub height. Park-by-Charmont Barbuise contributes to France's commitments to increase the share of renewables to 23% in the national production of electricity by 2020.
Such success would not have happened without close collaboration with elected officials and the local population of the town-by-Charmont Barbuise.
